(links shamelessy stolen from [livejournal.com profile] katyha )

These people are actually serious:
Evil is everywhere!

most hilarious parts of:
Rock music made me love satan!

Tattoos will lead you to hell!

The rest are all wonderful too.

I know I shouldn't mock, but these people harm christianity more than anything else in my view.
The christians I know are all kind, loving, generous, patient - and willing to live in and accept the real world!
This level of fanatacism just turns me off and gives me no desire to listen to the rest of what they have to say.
And they quote extensively from the old testament, something I can't stand - I thought jesus said that the old testament no longer stands?

Or am I just being closed minded and judegemental?
Answers on a postcard...
My dad has just given me a FANTASTIC idea for a novel.
I have the complete plot, outline, characters, everything...
Problem is I just don't think I'm ready to write it just yet.

It's sure as hell going in storage til I am tho.

In the meantime... anyone wanna inspire me with a short story idea?

Otherwise read as: Oi! Arwen! Your, 'I'm giving you one word/ concept, and you're giving me a story in 2 days' thing worked SO well last time... can we repeat it, please? You're one of the few people I like AND respect enough (or, whose work I respect enough) for it to work... Other people who fit into this category, or think they should do (shroom?), please don't be shy about bullying/ enticing/ bribing me into writing. No, really. Especially bribing.

Damnit, forgot to bet on the grand national before leaving the country.

Neil has remembered tho, and even offered to split the winnings with me if he wins. Seeing as he chose a horse with 200/1 odds, I'm quite happy to accept that.
We're having a sweepstake here tho, and my parents friends are coming round, so I could still win £25.

Anyone else tuning in later?
Did anyone else see the George Harrison tribute concert last night?
Dad and I just caught a bit of it, but it was pretty good. I had a crash course in Beatles history because dad kept saying that his (George's) son looked uncannily like him, and I said I'd never seen pictures of the Beatles that young - so out came the huge anthology, and he's right, the resemblance is uncanny. My head is now filled with obscure beatles knowledge and quotes :)

I ended up going back to peter's house the other night when he came round. The plan was to buy a bag of weed and spend a hazy evening together, but that fell through. We still had a good long talk though.
Is it true Ouzo is made from squids? He didn't think to mention this to his best vegetarian friend until the next afternoon.... grrr....

Peter, family and friend were going to an art exhibition yesterday, so I ended up going along with them. Artbrussel is a yearly showcase where galleries from all over europe come and display work. It's huge. I was a little intimidated at first - artists and people at art exhibitions tend to look fantastic and give off vibes of 'I am much better and know much more than you'. The place was full of eccentrically dressed stick insects smoking french cigarettes and drinking the 7E a glass champagne (I thought artists were supposed to be poor?)
But then I realised that thanks to years of hanging around with Peter, I probably know more about art history than most of them, and even if I didn't, I still have an opinion. which was, incidentally, that a lot of it was awful.
There were some beauties though, and I could easily have spent a whole day in there.
Note to self: check out more of Erwin Olaf's photography. Especially the Girls series.

Last night, went to see Big Fish with mum and dad.
It was alright. A lot less dark and more schmaltzy than I had expected, but enjoyable.

Unfortunately, 3 days has been long enough for me to remember why I never liked living here. That's a rant for a whole different post tho.
very relaxed couple of days.
sunday was me neil (jules was in bed) a few bottles and...
every episode of queer as folk ever. Yay!
Is it wrong to enjoy the gay sex scenes so much? mmmmm.... 'Course, I love the acting and the storylines too. That show rocks my world.
As does neil, for owning the 5 cd box set.

I am a gay man trapped in the body of a lesbian. :)

Yesterday, went onto campus with neil and we had our first committee meeting as co-chairs of the lgbt. Have so many ideas for things we want to do with the group. We've set up a newsletter, and have also organised a few workshops for next term - banner painting and stereotypes. Plus a club night and a picnic. Should be good.

Then watched dvds all last night.
Neil has bought Vice City and is downstairs playing it. I love that game, but only because of the soundtrack and the opportunity to race around in cars. I can't axtually do any of the missions. I suck at all computer (well, playstation) games, so have come upstairs to get ready to leave.
This time tomorrow I'll be in belgium. Weird.

That's it really.
despite the fact I got up ridiculously late and have, in reality, done fuck all today, I am still feeling good and energised as neil and I have just rung a few truck companies, and it looks like we are now well on the way to actually having a truck for pride. yay! Neil even managed to wrangle us a student discount.

I like this co-chair thingy, next year is gonna be FUN :)
Budapest is beautiful. I had an amazing time, everything went far better than I could have hoped for, and I feel like I learned a hell of a lot too.

I've got so much in my mind at the moment if I wrote it all down I'd be here forever, and I'm not in the mood for a long ramble, so I'll try my best to keep this brief:

( Rob )

( I'm one of the luckiest people in the world (I feel all soppy - must be hormones or something) )

I'll write more detail about Hungary when I'm in the mood - I did keep a journal while I was away, because I didn't want to forget any of it.
knackered.
No sleep for 2 days and getting up in 3 hours to go to hungary. Optimistic tho.
Wish I could talk to people but no time
Umm...

Went to bi meeting in brighton tonight. rocked! Will def go back

Still knackered

G'night all...

We broke up.
I expected it, it had to happen...
But it still hurts a lot.

Off to drink more vodka and watch rhps...

more later, maybe.

bah.
I finally badgered Neil into signing up... Is it because he's drunk?!
anyway, he can now be found at
[livejournal.com profile] insane_nurse
He's one of the only people I know I don't try to kill when they use bad grammar or misspell, but that's only because he's dyslexic... or as he prefers, 'gramatically challenged'. I may still poke him with forks for abusing the exclamation mark the way he does though. The only reason I haven't so far is because he's so nice (awwww).

Anyway, go! Friend him, chat, and generally bother him. He loves it ;) (and so will you).

umm

Hurrah!!

Neil is moving in tomorrow. It doesn't seem real. Will be good tho, I think he will keep me sane. I helped him pack today and we watched Bring It On, which I hadn't seen before.
Eliza Dashku, mmmmmmm.... (c'mon, even her NAME is sexy!)
He wasn't supposed to be moving in til the weekend, but ellie's gone, and his friend has the car tomorrow, so it made sense. Not sure how it will all go, but I'm optimistic.

I wasn't going to go out at all this week due to my spectacular money fuck-up, but the lovely [livejournal.com profile] stompyboots has offered to pay my entrance fee, and give me wine and speed to go to Electricity with her.
The girl's deranged, but I'm very happy.

Not much else.
I have completely failed to sleep, again.
I went to bed and everything, but ended up just lying there watching the sky get lighter, and then it was 7am and I had to get up soon anyway, so I did.
oh well.

And my life will be sorted. Simple.

hmm, well it hasn't been this bad in... a long time.
I just _cannot_ sleep. No doubt I won't be saying that halfway through the 10am lecture. If I make it.

However, Juliette hasn't been sleeping either as she's been reading, so I've been keeping her company. And, because I'm just such a good natured soul, have spent the past hour or two so making her a screensaver.
She asked for lots of pictures of ladies with nice boobs, I was only doing what she asked.
and if that meant I had to spend ages trawling through pics on bme, suicide girls, and various softcore net porn sites, so be it. I'm just that good a friend.

well there goes the weekend.
I need to go do something constructive, because at the moment _everything_ is winding me up, and I'm just having to avoid people in general...

On a good note, it turns out odile and toby did find each other last night..
It might have been nice if someone had texted us to tell us this tho, as we had a house full of worried and tired people sitting around phoning _everyone_ we knew in or around notts, and waiting til the club shut so we'd be able to phone odile... only to be told that they'd found each other ages ago and were having a great time. Hmmm....
All's well that ends well I suppose.

meh

This weekend I have...
got drunk lots
sat around inside
sent odile various numbers she's needed...

Keep meaning to do stuff but somehow can't. tried to go to the pub last night but couldn't - too many scary people.
My mind's not working :s

And right now..
Shroom is in notts, SPOSED to be meeting up with someone, but hasn't, and we now can't get through to her, other person, or anyone else who might be out...

worried house...

argh
Ok, am feeling much better through the virtue of having many beautiful and surreal links saved on here for this purpose...
And having showed many to shroom ad arwen, there is one they feel I MUST share...
Sing it! Cows kick ass!
Sound, as always, pretty much a necessity.
Stayed up all night to finish my essay, did very well.
Went in for my english seminar, and that went well until the tutor said, 'right, so now I'll take in all your essays'... umm... essays?! Luckily they were unassessed so wasn't too bad (this is what happens when you do something that isn't your degree for 2 weeks)..
Went on to my philosophy seminar, feeling good as I had 2 copies of my essay all ready for submission... until Kate kindly informed me that I should have submitted it to the office, not to the tutor, half an hour ago... argh! So gave it in, but late, and have lost 10% without it even being marked. I. am. a. plank.
Remainder of day wasn't much better... Came back from handing in essay (missed part of seminar to go), had concilitory cigarette outside building.. and out walked my tutor. Damn... I'm not s'posed to be inside, no, really...

Once things have started to go wrong and you haven't eaten or slept your brain gets all paranoid and tells you horrible things.. notlistening is the hard part.
I came home, downed 2 pints and most of a bottle of wine and ranted at my housemates. It helps. Some things are still worrying me though..

Bah *takes another gulp of wine*
